KUDOS is a positivity platform where people share empowering compliments towards friends, family, and coworkers.
KUDOS uses your social media contacts to create a platform where you can deliver anonymous or personal compliments to your network. Through research it was discovered that many people are holding back from trying new things because they do not receive positive feedback from friends or family often enough. Asking the public how often they say a nice thing to a close friend or family member face-to-face found that many did not share positive things very often. Those who do say positive things found it difficult or ‘awkward’ to say these things, such as 'I think you are really good listener'. The public stated that writing a letter or texting a person was much easier to communicate positive feedback. Furthermore, it was found that people worry about what other people think of them when they say positive comments because it is 'socially awkward'. As a result we came together to design an Application specifically devoted to allow people to be positive to each other and not feel awkward to say nice things and worry about what other people think of them. Comments given to friends or family remain secret to other users so that the user who receives a positive comment is the only one who sees it. This eliminates the need between social media users to look ‘cool’ or compare each other between people’s profiles, like with Instagram or Facebook. It’s completely personal and the App acts as someone's own personal tool to go to and feel good. Senders however will have an option to not be anonymous if they want to when they write positive comments. The receiver will also be able to select who can send them positive comments when they set up the App. Additionally there is an option to choose to give positive comments to strangers by turning on your geo location. This means when you are walking around in public users can say nice things to someone who passed them by if they want to be nice. This could make someone feel great that day. The users of each app will have a profile picture which will allow them to recognise people on the street, and give praise such as ‘you were so kind to help that old lady cross the road today’ or 'you're jacket is cool'. The App will be designed so that typing on the App will have an artificial intelligence that prevents users from writing negative comments about each other. And furthermore, the App will not allow users to contact each other to prevent the App from replacing a dating App. It is simply to be give people positive feedback and be nice.
